Technicalities Behind Relay Control Panel and How They Operate

A commercial and an industrial process need hundreds and thousands of minute parts. With the help of these parts a machinery is formed which helps in manufacturing process. Some of these parts also consist of control relay. Control relay are of several types which are used for different purposes. With the advent of technology these relay control panels have been replaced with logic controller which are programmed by software’s and driven by technological development. These are also known as smart relays.

However relay control panels still are a very important part in any electric system. Relay control panel is one of the most important device which helps in isolating one voltage to another voltage level. There are two dimensions to firstly the relay which is used in energizing the starter and secondly the PLC whose main function is to control the relay. Both of these activities happen hand in hand. There are various kind of relays. Following are some of the relays which are very commonly used.

DC relays

In case of a DC relay panel, there is a ferromagnetic core which consists of a wire wound on a reel. There is a current which is passed to the ferromagnetic core which passes through the coil which leads to closing of the contacts.

AC relays

Another type of Relay control panel is the AC relay which is quite similar to the DC relay. Here there is a shading ring which is a very important component while the current is passed. Its main function is to produce flux in the first half of the core and pass it to the other half. Therefore this results in an ongoing flux, which leads to an ongoing energization

Plug-in relays

Plug in relay is the most widely used relay type as it is cheaper as compared to other and can be very easily installed as it is made with a predefined quantity of contact. They are very well connected as they are plugged into the socket which is then be attached straight to a relay control panel or are fixed on DIN rails. These can be of various sizes according to the need. Surprisingly there are some very tiny relay control panel which works so efficiently are most desirable as they look like a terminal which helps in completing the process.

Relay control panels are very complex therefore one should be very careful while applying circuits especially in low current circuits. When relay control panels are exercises, then it strictly depends on a particular amount of current which may help in removing oxidation. There is a a different kind of rating provided to various relay.

Relays to be used with low currents must have contacts rated for the current level. A contact rated for 10A, for example, is not appropriate when used in a circuit of only tiny mill amperes. One should refer to the Relay data sheets which specify a minimum and maximum load current.
