Citrate is one of the most important chemical compounds used in our medical fields. There are many citrate derivatives derived for different purposes. Chemical IUPAC name of the citrate is 2 – hydroxypropane – 1, 2, 3 – tricarboxylate.

Molecular mass of citrate is 189 gram per mole. In actual manner, potassium magnesium citrate is a derivative. This is a derivative of citric acid. There are many chemical compounds present in solutions of citric acid or citrate like esters, salts and polyatomic anions. There are many chemical characters which remain same after driving a new compound out of them. Citrate ions are less acidic in nature due to strong bonding but they itself a weak base too. They have less capability of basic nature and thus we can’t consider good acid as well good base.

The use of citrate derivative is to cure some diseases to derive new chemical composition for further use. New compound is often used for the research and also for the medical and commercial purposes. In Labs and commercial places, it is very common to derive something new from the already present compound. This derivation technique is very important for the successive growth.
